I used to be a waitress/bartender at a local restaurant. One evening, after a busy night, I went to the patio to clean up some of the tables. Immediately, I see a beautiful, fluffy, white cat eating queso from a bowl. We made eye contact and he then took off back into the trees behind the restaurant.I continued my shift, but kept looking outside to see if the cat was still around. No signs of him.The next evening was a much cooler night, so there was no patio business that day. I look outside and was amazed that he returned to the patio. He looked sad, hungry, helpess. I immediately ran to the kitchen, warmed up some milk and chopped up some turkey we had. He was extremely skittish, but I set the bowls out and he came back and finished all of it. At this point, I knew I was going to help this kitty. I started bringing cat food to work and would leave food and water out for him. By now, temperatures were plummeting. I made a DIY cat house with straw for him and hoped I could get a trap soon. Eventually, I got a trap and viola! He was caught. One of the famous items at our restaurant was the honey butter. That was to be his name:)The minute I brought him home, he immediately warmed up to me and wanted all the pets and scratches. He became my baby. As an insomniac, he helped me fall asleep. I adored him and his stinky breath. We had a wonderful 4 years together. The other day, I came home from work and he was on the floor.. he was gone. My heart.. my soul.. is absolutely, completely shattered. I love you always and forever, my Honey Butter, my Bitter, my Bit Bits, my Sleeping Pill, my Butter Bean, my Honey Buns. Ill see you again, one day.
